Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in working at Milford Public Schools.  The first step in the process is to immediately send a letter of interest and a resume to the District for an advertised position.  Suitable resumes will include teaching experience, degree(s) earned, student teaching experience, other work experience and references.

The second step is to complete an application form.  These downloadable forms can be found at the bottom of this page.  The application is a Word document and may be completed by filling in the required information.  Candidates are encouraged to save the document to their computer.  Please be sure to complete all sections before mailing or emailing.

A non-teacher applicant will be considered to have a completed file when the following have been received by the Milford Public Schools: letter of application, resume, application form, and any letters of recommendation the applicant wants to include. 

A teacher applicant will be considered to have a completed file when the following have been received by the Milford Public Schools: letter of application, resume, application form, letters of recommendation, copy of teaching certificate and transcripts.

Upon completion of a screening process, selected applicants will be called for an interview.  The interview process may include an interview with the building principal, a selected team of teachers, and other district administrators.  

The candidates selected for the teaching positions will be notified by phone and will have a specified, limited time to respond to a contract offer.  When an offer is accepted, the contract will be submitted to the Milford Public Schools Board of Education at their next regularly scheduled meeting for approval.

Please understand, because of the number of candidates, we are unable to notify each candidate of his or her current status.  However, an applicant may contact the District regarding the status of the vacancy.  Applicants who have interviewed for a position will be informed of the final selection.

Available Positions

Milford Public Schools is accepting applications for the following positions. The link to the application is at the bottom of this page.

Part-Time Cook at Milford High School.  

Position hours are generally scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. depending on daily responsibilities,  with possible opportunities for additional hours.  Starting salary is $12.10 depending on experience.  The position involves general cooking and other related duties.  Experience with large-scale food preparation is preferred.  Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Regular Driver and Substitute Bus Drivers

Applications are being accepted for a full-time driver and substitute bus drivers.  The position may involve morning and/or afternoon routes.  Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to relate well with students, and have or be able to acquire proper driving certification through the State of Nebraska. MPS pays for the necessary training to obtain CDL license and School Bus Permit.  The District pays for all training and licenses. 

Substitute Cook

Applications are being accepted for substitute cooks.  The position involves general food preparation and other related duties.  Experience with large-scale food preparation is preferred but not required.  Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Starting salary is $11.00 per hour.  Prior food service experience will be taken into consideration on starting pay based on the district’s approved pay scale.
